Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TextFormatter.ai websites textformatter.ai and app.textformatter.ai and the text-formatting service offered there (the "Service"), operated by TextFormatter.ai ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

TextFormatter.ai is a tool that cleans up and formats text you provide. The current free version does not require an account and allows formatting of up to roughly 2,000 words per request and a monthly allowance, which we may change at any time. We may also introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, additional terms may apply to those plans and we will make them available before you subscribe.

Who can use the Service

You may use the Service only if you can form a binding agreement with us and are at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required in your country). If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service, you confirm you meet these requirements.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and not to:

• submit or process content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or that you do not have the right to use;
• submit other people's personal or confidential information unlawfully;
• upload malware or attempt to interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
• attempt to bypass usage or rate limits, or access the Service through automated or bulk means beyond normal individual use;
• reverse-engineer, copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted;
• misrepresent formatted output as created, endorsed by, or affiliated with us.

We may apply rate limits and other technical measures to keep the Service available and fair for everyone.

Your content

You keep all rights to the text you submit ("Input") and to the formatted result you receive ("Output"). We claim no ownership of either. You are responsible for your Input and for ensuring you have the rights to submit it.

To operate the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to process your Input only as needed to generate your Output and provide the Service. As explained in our Privacy Policy, your Input is sent to a third-party AI provider to be formatted and is then discarded — we do not store it.

Automated output — no guarantee of accuracy

Formatting is performed by automated systems and third-party AI providers. Output may contain errors, omissions, or unexpected changes, and is provided for your convenience only. You are responsible for reviewing Output before relying on, publishing, or sharing it. The Service does not provide legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice.

Our intellectual property

The Service, including the websites, software, design, and the TextFormatter.ai name and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (for example, AI processing, analytics, and hosting). Your use of the Service may also be subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

Availability and changes to the Service

The Service is provided free of charge and on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice, and we will not be liable to you for doing so.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Output will meet your requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or costs arising out of your Input, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are material, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable at our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in this section affects any mandatory rights you have under the law of your country of residence, including any right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; you may not assign them without our consent.
